Round
3 of the CPGP - For Grants to Promote Evidence Based
Prescribing Nationwide.
The
deadline for Round 3 grant applications was June 3,
2010. Applications are no longer being
accepted.
On July 1, 2009 the Oregon
Department of Justice and the Executive Committee of
the Special Committee of State Attorneys General
representing the states of Florida, Illinois, Ohio,
Oregon, Massachusetts, New York, Texas and Vermont,
selected Harry Snyder to serve as Contracts
Administrator for the distribution of approximately $12
million in the third and final round of the Consumer
and Prescriber Grant Program. The grants will be made
as part of the settlement of In the Matter of
Warner Lambert Company, LLC (Case No. 04C14403).

3 of the CPGP Program
As of November 2011 the Oregon
Department of Justice on behalf of the Special
Committee of State Attorneys General has executed four
grant contracts promoting evidence-based prescribing
under Round 3 of the CPGP.

Contract Administration
Round 1 and Round 2
On July 8, 2008 the Oregon
Department of Justice and the Executive Committee of
the Special Committee of State Attorneys General
selected Harry Snyder to serve as Contracts
Administrator for 28 grants nationwide totaling over
$10 million. The grants have been made to provide
health care professionals with information related to
prescription drugs, focusing on the way drugs are
marketed and the appropriate ways they should be
prescribed. This contract was amended to include
administration of two additional grants to educate
prescribers and to evaluate the results of the
Prescriber Education grants. To date, administration of
all Round 1 and Round 2 grants are complete.
